How did the idea to start a women’s hospital come about?
NMC Healthcare decided to open BrightPoint Women’s Hospital to help reduce the acute shortage of beds for ‘women and child’ care. According to a recent study, the current shortfall of beds for both normal deliveries and C-sections is 600 in Abu Dhabi and 1,400 in Dubai.
BrightPoint Women’s Hospital will be the first private hospital dedicated to ‘women and child’ care in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The 100-bed hospital provides an optimal healing environment in a caring, emotionally supportive, home-like atmosphere, where patients enjoy the highest standard of care and comfort during their stay.
Is this the first women’s hospital in UAE and the GCC?
BrightPoint Women’s Hospital is the first private hospital dedicated to ‘women and child’ care in Abu Dhabi.
Will all the staff be female? What proportion will be if not? In which sections?
A majority of the BrightPoint staff are female including all obstetricians and gynaecologists, radiologist, anaesthetists and pathologist. A few of the paediatricians and neonatologists are male.
What are the medical services you will be providing at the hospital?
Medical services offered by BrightPoint Women’s Hospital include pre-pregnancy counselling, obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, maternal foetal medicine, assisted reproduction (IVF, IUI, ICSI), paediatrics, radiology, pathology and anaesthesiology…..
