Around the house, in the car or at school – kids are always at risk of injuring themselves. Amongst the more serious risks is that of safety in the car. Almost 50% of parents are not aware of the correct child safety measures to be taken while on the road.
Along with Babyshop, NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Ain conducted a “Child safety and Injury prevention” workshop on December 21, 2013.
Various lectures related to child safety and prevention were delivered by Dr. Mohammed Qureshi-Specialist Pediatrician, Sr. Pranitha-Nursing Administrator and a live demo on car seat safety was conducted by Babyshop. Some of the basics to keep in mind are:
- Never leave your child alone in the car especially with the doors and windows auto-locked
- Don’t let your child travel in the front seat
- Always ensure that your child is wearing the safety belt or a child safety seat
The workshop also consisted of video presentations and role plays from the nursing team and was attended by approximately 45 mothers and teachers.
